BAKER, AIDAN – the sea swells a bit – VINYL 2xLP (black)

2015 reissue; originally released in 2006. Canadian Berlin resident Aidan Baker first became known as half of the prolific Nadja duo with Leah Buckareff, ceaselessly exploring different aspects of ambient, noise, and drone music. Baker is also well known for his solo work and collaborations with such prestigious artists as Tim Hecker, Thisquietarmy, and Noveller. This is the first vinyl edition of one of Baker’s key works, 2006’s The Sea Swells a Bit…, containing three long ambient pieces that are sure to rob listeners of their senses. This edition also includes a live version of the title-track as a bonus. The new artwork by Francis Meslet (Urbex) intensifies in a most admirable manner the depth of this dizzying music.
