« Hands That Pluck » is presented as a two-disc set which features the new and most overwhelming CAINA full-length to date, “Hands That Pluck” and a bonus disc which is a 54 minute EP entitled “Old Songs, New Chords”.
Solely commanded by young UK musical visionary Andrew Curtis-Brignell, when he started CAINA at 17 years old, he had already been experimenting by mixing such genres as raw black metal, shoegaze, and post metal together much before said trend exploded into the scene and before bands of said ilk came pouring out by the droves.
Brignell’s vision was much deeper, more profound, and ultimately a unique vision like no young artist had ever portrayed in the underground black metal scene, musically and lyrically. “Hands That Pluck” is the ultimate culmination of the CAINA aura, one that was built upon with the initial demos and developed through a sky melting repertoire that encompassed a unique creative fervor.
“Hands That Pluck” nonetheless is the most ambitious, experimental, progressive and unique CAINA album yet. Also it is CAINA’s bleakest, most aggressive and punishing album as well and is the first CAINA album that Brignell has brought in a cast of musicians to help shape and complete the vision for “Hands That Pluck”. Featuring guest vocals from Imperial (KRIEG), R. Resmini (STARKWEATHER), and C. Ross (BLOOD REVOLT/REVENGE/AXIS OF ADVANCE), the appearance from these accomplished musicians also help make “Hands That Pluck” the most diverse CAINA album to date and help make the final CAINA album a suitable finality.
